We met Karsyn at the Cecil Fun Fest Community Day in Cecil, PA this summer! Her handmade rose crafts were so unique that we just had to learn more about how she got started.

CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?
Karsyn: I came up with the idea because I love collecting license plates and roses are my favorite flower. So I thought why not put them together.

CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get a hold of them?
Karsyn: The license plates I needed to make the flowers and I got those at swap meets and garage sales because I like to mess with cars too. The all thread and the bolts to make the stems came from our garage.

CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?
Karsyn: Yes, it was hard to get the license plates and difficult to get them the right size so that you could see where they were from – some are from PA, some from OH. And sometimes it was hard to figure out how to bend them.

CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?
Karsyn: Put in all the hard work that you have to!

CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?
Karsyn: We will be working on putting together an Etsy page soon!
