Meet Bennett, 11, and Jamesy, 6, sibling owners of Bee Cozy! We ran into them at our market in Canton, GA last year. Bennett (Bee) impressed us with her wonderful crochet creations, so we had to learn more about how this business got its start!

CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?

Bennett: I started my business around two years ago, and I was just making blankets. I got the idea for my name from my dad! My nickname is Bee and I love being cozy, so my dad made it up!

CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going?

Bennett: For my animals I need yarn from Hobby Lobby, and I usually go there when it’s on sale! I also get the chunky yarn for my blankets from Hobby Lobby too. My mom helps me out with buying the supplies, and then after the markets I pay her back.

CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?

Bennett: It’s hard sometimes to get people to come into your booth when they’re walking by. You have to draw them in with good questions, so I had to come up with some good questions to get them to talk to me more.

CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?

Bennett: Never give up!!

CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?

Bennett: You can find me at future markets here in Georgia.
