We met 7-year-old Gianna at one of our first ever markets in California this year! With a few offerings at her booth, we were intrigued and wanted to know more about her business!
CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?
Gianna: We sell creamy lemonade, handmade soap and a self-published book, “I like me the way I am.” We wrote and illustrated it ourselves. The book is for kids and is about loving your skin and being confident. It’s a story that is based on someone being mean to me.
CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get ahold of them?
Gianna: I needed soap blocks, cups, lemonade, cream and my books. We purchased most of what we needed on Amazon.
CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?
Gianna: Poking through the holes in the lemonade cups was hard!
CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?
Gianna: Just think of what you love to do!
CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?
Gianna: We have social media. Our Instagram is @giaandgemland and Youtube account is Gianna And Gemma Land.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Gianna! See you at the next market!
