At our Columbia, Tennessee market we got to have a delicious dirty chai latte made by Juliet, owner of JJ’s Coffee Co. See what she had to say about her business:
“Hi! I’m Juliet, I’m 13 years old, and the young entrepreneur behind JJ’s Coffee Co. Since I was just 5 years old, I have enjoyed making lattes, (not drinking them yet of course) and I had my first latte stand in my neighborhood at the age of 7. I have created a business that brings delicious beverages and smiles to my community!
In December of 2023 I started JJ’s Coffee Co. I did a small kids entrepreneur fair in my area and knew that it was something I wanted to continue doing. It took a lot of work, time, and trial and error but I finally got the hang of owning a small business.
Some challenges I faced in the beginning were things like how much supplies cost, and making sure that it was profitable, and also how many supplies I needed based on the number of people that were expected to be at the events.
Some advice I would give to aspiring entrepreneurs is:
You will make mistakes, but you will learn from them, and they will help you to strengthen your business. Have fun! It is not about perfection, just make sure you are not losing money.”
