Ryder, 9, participated in one of our markets in the Pittsburgh metro this year. His products are so unique, we think you’ll love them too! Check out what he had to say about his business!
Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?
Ryder: I wanted to make a handcrafted craft to sell, and I figured out that we could use silverware to make animals and plants.
What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get a hold of them?
Ryder: We needed to get silverware and bolt cutters, so we went to a thrift shop to get some silverware.
What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?
Ryder: When we were trying to work with the silverware, it wouldn’t cut at first because it was really thick, so we had to keep working – pushing and pulling it back further and further until it cracked.
Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?
Ryder: If you want to try to sell something, don’t give up and do whatever it takes to make something.
How can potential customers get in touch with you?
Ryder: Right now, they can see me at a local market or contact me by phone.
