Meet Kimber and Sage, sisters who participated in our Casa Grande, AZ market on March 18, 2023! Kimber owns Bundle Up Blankets, and Sage owns Sage’s Sweet Shop. We had the chance to interview these two lovely girls about their businesses. Here is what they had to say!

Kimber, Bundle Up Blankets, and Sage, Sage’s Sweet Shop:

Q: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?

K: I decided to do blankets because they’re fun and my mom knew how to help me.

S: My mom gave me the idea because she likes cooking and my grandma gave me the idea of Rice Krispie pops.

Q: What supplies and resourced did you need to get going? How did you get a hold of them?

K: My mom already had everything but the material. We had to use a tape measure and felt scissors. My grandma helped with tags. My mom’s friend helped with my logo design. There was a lot of things to it!

S: Sticks, melted chocolate, bags, twist ties and tags. My mom bought some things off amazon and grandma made the tags. We bought the melting chocolate and Rice Krispies from the store.

Q: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?

K: Well I originally was going to make dream catchers but I realized they were a lot of work and cost about $50 to make just one. Blankets were easier and my mom already knew how to help me so I decided to do that instead!

S: Getting people to buy here at the market was a challenge to me, so I’m going to keep on trying!

Q: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?

K: I would probably say that you want to be interactive with the customers. You also want to say extra things to sell them more. I decided to say “buy one, get a free keychain.”

S: It’s fun!

Q: How can potential customers get in touch with you?

K: Customers can see me at another Children’s Entrepreneur Market!

S: I’ll try to be at another Children’s Entrepreneur Market!

With a great support system around them, and determination in their hearts, these sisters are bound to succeed in whatever they put their minds to!
