"We wanted to make some money, and we’re always trying to start little businesses like bake sales...

Lyric and her brother, Luke, have participated in many of our southern Arizona markets within the last year. Lyric’s personality and beautiful booth set up draws people in, where she then can show them how awesome and unique her slime is!

CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?

Lyric has a custom slime business that specializes in novelty slime designs. The idea came about as a way to make friends at her new school in a new state. She took some slime to school and soon. Kids were asking her to make them slime. She started selling at school to classmates. At recess, she started having slime club, which also lead to more kids wanting to buy slime. Actually, making a business out of it came to be when we discovered CEM through a friend who lived in Texas. Thus, Slimed by Lyric became official at our first CEM event in March of 2024.

CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get a hold of them?

With the help of her parents who gave her an interest free small business loan, and marketing materials for signage Lyric was able to invest into her business. Her slime business needs lots and lots of glue, and we mean gallons upon gallons. We also needed activator, cups, containers for packaging, charms, essential oils, dye, foam beads, glitter, mixing bowls.

CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?

The biggest challenge we’ve faced thus far is getting all of the marketing for the business. It’s a big financial undertaking to get the customer facing portion of your business in order. We are passionate about creating beautiful slime and when people come to our booth its equally important that my passion shines through in

our display. My slime is a vibe and I want everyone who comes to my booth, whether they buy slime or not to walk away feeling that vibe.

CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?

Some markets will be busy; Some markets will be slow but always make the market work for you. What I mean by that is, if you don’t have a lot of customers then that’s an opportunity to create content to promote your business on social media.

CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?

We encourage people to support Lyric by subscribing to her YouTube channel.

Also we would love to branch out and do parties and events. If you’re interested in having a slime birthday party or want to host a Slime Social were we teach you how to make slime contact us at lyricaviana@gmail.com. Please be sure to note “slime” in the subject.
