We met Augustine (8) at a recent market in Irving, TX, and we were impressed with his balloon animal booth! This young entrepreneur’s creations were a huge hit and delighted many customers. We were excited to talk to him more about his business!
CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?
Augustine: Well, on my birthday I got an animal balloon kit, and I liked doing it, so I got a lot more animal balloons! Then about a year later I got the chance to come and do this booth, and I decided to make animal balloons.
CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going, and how did you get ahold of them?
Augustine: I needed some extra balloons for the booth, so I asked my mom to get some on Amazon.
CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?
Augustine: The only challenge is when there’s not enough space and it pops. I had a lot of pops today because of that, but I pushed through and just kept trying.
CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?
Augustine: If you buy the booklet I have for balloon creations, you should know there’s an easier way to make a sword. Their way is pretty hard. I learned how to make animals from the book, but I came up with a better and easier way to make swords.
CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?
Augustine: Hopefully I’ll be at future markets!
Thanks for talking with us, Augustine! We hope to see you at another market soon!
