Landon (14) and Emerson (11) are the owners of Em and Bubba’s Creations! Their create-your-own sand art booth was a huge hit with customers at our Plano markets. We were excited to interview them about their experience as young entrepreneurs!
CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?
Landon & Emerson: Em and Bubbas Creations is a business that sells “make your own sand art” so people can personalize it in their own way. We went to a lot of craft shows and there was not much for kids to do, so we wanted to have a kid friendly booth.
CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get ahold of them?
Landon & Emerson: All we needed was different colored sand and different kinds of bottles that people could choose from. We researched on Amazon for the best prices.
CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?
Landon & Emerson: Participating in shows that not many kids went to, so we researched good craft fairs for kids. We also started setting up at school fairs so more kids would be there.
CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?
Landon & Emerson: Always believe in yourself, try your best, and remember not all shows will go your way.
CEM: How can potential customers get in touch with you?
Landon & Emerson: We have an Em and Bubba’s Creations Facebook Page.
Thanks for talking with us, Landon and Emerson! We’re impressed with your fun and creative business, and we look forward to seeing you at more markets in the future!
