We were wowed by the creativity and enthusiasm of these three young entrepreneurs in Tucson, Arizona this Fall! Genesis, 10, Victoria, 9, and JJ, 6, are the adorable owners of their jewelry and accessory business, Sprinkles & Confetti.

CEM: Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?

How we started the business is, I used to go to a program and made melted beads and I made bracelets. Then I started selling them! That’s when my mom said let’s start a business and stuff.

CEM: What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get a hold of them?

We would get the beads at different kinds of stores like Michael’s and Amazon. So then we would get like different sizes of beads that we can use. Also, strings like clear ones and rainbow ones.

CEM: What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?

Waiting for customers and a bunch of people coming in line and we had to move fast. Another the problem was that- my mom, she taught us how to make these flower beads- and then that’s the difficult part I never knew. I was like “how do I do it!?” Then my mom taught me and I was like “oooh, that’s how you do it!” Then the other difficulties were telling people the amount of money they owed.

CEM: Do you have any advice for other aspiring kid entrepreneurs?

If somebody wanted to be an artist or something, just to do your best, just to calm down, don’t put pressure in it. Just chill and relax, and believe in yourself!

CEM: Is there anything else you’d like us to know?

We had a lot of fun! At first I was nervous and jittery, but then I got the hang of it and it was really fun!

Thanks for chatting with us, girls! We hope to see you at many more markets in the future!
