While at our Millington, TN market on May 6th, we got to meet the Glitter Girls! Sophia, 13 and Abby, 11, ran their booth with the help of their 4-year-old sister Gwen. This was their first market and they talked to, and hair tinseled, our Nashville manager, Amanda:

Tell us about your business. How did you first get the idea?

“We are the Glitter Girls and we apply hair tinsel and glitter tattoos and bracelets. We are really big on glitter and we always have hair tinsel at home so we wanted to bring it out so everyone has a chance to do it.”

What supplies and resources did you need to get going? How did you get a hold of them?

We mostly purchase our stuff online.

What are some challenges you’ve faced in business, and how did you overcome them?

Sophia said; “Hair tinsel is really hard to learn but once you get the hang of it it’s really easy. That was the biggest challenge for me.”

Abby said, “Making the bracelets is really tedious. I kept losing them and they kept falling apart but I just kept practicing and got better at it.”

When we asked the girls if they would do more   markets in the future they said they wanted to join more! Thanks for talking to us Glitter Girls (and thanks for the hair tinsel!). See you at the next market!
